The Amazing Kreskin With a showman's flair, a comedian's wit, and the capacities of a bona fide Mentalist or thought reader, The Amazing Kreskin has, for 5 decades, dramatized the unique facets of the human mind, his own! His very name has become an integral part of pop culture throughout the world, invoked in comedy clubs, comic strips, print stories, and TV shows. In 2008, Tom Hanks produced and co-starred with John Malkovich in "The Great Buck Howard" which was fashioned after the Amazing Kreskin's life. After over 50 years of performing, Kreskin has a new cult following. To quote David Letterman, "Kreskin should sue the producers of the TV show, "The Mentalist" for stealing his act. He's the best mentalist in the world and he's not acting!" Kreskin tells people things about themselves that only a close family member or friend would know! Kreskin will ask to have his check hidden during the show at the Wood, which if he can't find it, he forfeits his fee! Kreskin continues to offer $1,000,000.00 to anybody that can prove that he employs paid secret assistants or confederates in any phase of his program to help him perform his mentalist "effects."

Wednesday, April 11, 8:00pm
An Evening with Judy Collins Thrilling audiences worldwide with her unique blend of interpretative folk songs and contemporary themes, Judy Collin’s impressive career has spanned more than 40 years. At 13, Judy Collins made her public debut performing Mozart’s “Concerto for Two Pianos” but it was the music of such artists as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as the traditional songs of the folk revival, that sparked Judy Collins’ love of lyrics. She soon moved away from the classical piano and began her lifelong love with the guitar. In 1961, Judy Collins released her first album, A Maid of Constant Sorrow, at the age of 22.

Elevating the Everyday What unexpected treasures from the past does your house hold? No…we’re not talking about precious gems, heirloom silver or art by great masters. We’re talking about the unassuming and often overlooked world of quirky creations and items of daily use. From carvings to quilts, doll houses to doorknobs and everything in between, Elevating the Everyday offers a new perspective on objects of humble origins. The exhibit aims to take a fresh look at commonplace items from the mid 19th century to the early part of the 20th century, particularly how they were embellished upon by human hand or by machine. It explores the aesthetic trend of personalization and ornamentation that was popular during this period in both folk art and objects of mass production. In a time when conformity and social etiquette exercised control over lifestyle choices, artifacts of daily use became vehicles of creativity and expression.
